Press Release- Eldridge Posts Impressive First Quarter Fundraising in Shelton
Shelton, CT—The Shelton Mayor’s race is off to a competitive start! David A. Eldridge, candidate for mayor against the 30-year incumbent raised $33,175 in the first fundraising quarter. Eldridge was raised in Shelton, is a Marine Corp Veteran, retired Shelton police officer, former small business operator who currently works for Lockheed Martin/Sikorsky Aircraft.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank my family, friends, and residents for their outstanding support. Many contributors I have known for years but a number of residents whom I have not previously known have stepped up to contribute. They want change. They know we can maintain our low taxes and improve our city. I hear over and over that 30 years in office is too long. This current Mayor is too entrenched,” stated Eldridge.
“David is a worker. He will be getting his message of continued low taxes, quality of life improvements, smart economic development, support for our first responders, and strategic investments in our schools out to voters. Raising this amount of money early will greatly help that effort” stated Jim Capra, Campaign Manager for Eldridge for Mayor and former 4th Ward Republican Alderman.
The campaign ended the quarter with $31,424 on hand. Eldridge plans to run on the Democratic ticket, but has formed a bipartisan coalition that includes republicans, democrats, unaffiliated and Envision Shelton voters.
